Mark Ruffalo's look at the 2026 Golden Globes has a special meaning.

The *Task* star's pin, which reads "Be Good," is a tribute to Renee Macklin Good, who was fatally shot by an ICE agent on Jan. 7 in Minneapolis. Ruffalo is just one of the actors taking a stand at the unofficial start of awards season. Others are wearing "Ice Out" pins.

The campaign is endorsed by the American Civil Liberties Union and, per a news release, was organized by entertainment industry professionals with support from Maremoto, Move On, National Domestic Workers Alliance, and Working Families Power.

Good died Wednesday after being shot by an agent while in her vehicle. The Trump administration has alleged that the agent acted in self-defense.

Following the death, protests have broken out across the nation.

Ruffalo, who has long been outspoken on political issues, is one of the night's nominees at the Hollywood event. He is nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series — Drama for his HBO series, *Task*.

Actress and comedian Wanda Sykes wore the same pin.

"Of course, this is for the mother who was murdered by an ICE agent, and it's really sad," Sykes told *Variety* before the ceremony. "I know people are out marching and all today, and we need to speak up. We need to be out there and shut this rogue government down, because it's just awful what they're doing to people."

*Hacks* star Jean Smart, a nominee for the night's award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series — Musical or Comedy, also supported the cause. While she didn't wear a pin, she spoke about it during her interview with *ET*.

Smart noted that the event was somewhat overshadowed by recent national events.

"I feel like we're kind of at a turning point in our country," Smart said, "and I hope people can keep their heads because I think that's actually going to be the hardest thing, to keep our heads, but that's going to take a lot of courage and a lot of restraint."

She added, "Just really quickly, I want to say, I know there are people who find it annoying when actors take opportunities like this to talk about social and political things but I'm not here right now as an actress," she said. "I'm just speaking as a citizen and a mom, and I hope people understand that."**
