'Stranger Things' season 5 reveals new footage of Will's disappearance
The final season of Stranger Things is going back to the beginning.
Netflix dropped the first five minutes of the horror, sci-fi series' fifth and final season Thursday, and it gives viewers an up-close look at what happened to Will Byers, whose disappearance kicked everything off.
The date is Nov. 12, 1983, just six days after he went missing.
Preteen Will (Noah Schnapp) is singing The Clash's "Should I Stay or Should I Go" to calm himself āalthough it doesn't seem to be working ā while shivering in the Upside Down. He's even more terrified as a Demogorgon storms in.
While he puts up a good fight and attempts to escape, Will is eventually dragged to meet the villainous Vecna.

Vecna appears in the new preview of 'Stranger Things'
"At long last. We can begin," Vecna, who's played by Jamie Campbell Bower, tells him. "You and I, we will do such beautiful things together, William. Such beautiful things."
All the while, a tentacle latches onto Will's face and sends a substance through his body.
Co-creators Matt and Ross Duffer told Entertainment Weekly last week that the final episodes of Stranger Things will satisfy eager fans.
Ross teased that viewers would "start to learn more about what happened and what the connection is to all of this and Vecna."
And Matt said specific questions that would be addressed.
"So much of the season was built around the idea of coming full circle, answering many of the questions that were posed all the way back in season 1,ā Matt said. "I think the two biggest questions that we didn't really answer in season 1 that we do answer this season is: 'What is the Upside Down, truly?' and 'Why was Will taken?'"

Matt added, "Because the story really began with Will and his disappearance, it felt, in order to go full circle, it needed to really end with him in so many ways. In the last couple seasons, we hadn't really centered much of the show on Will. So there was so much to explore with him from a character perspective and plot perspective."
The first four new episodes of Stranger Things will be available Nov. 26 at 5 p.m. PT on Netflix, with three more to follow Dec. 25 and the finale on Dec. 31.
