- There's a leopard in the trailer for *Yellowstone* spinoff *Dutton Ranch*. And yet, somehow, the big cat is the least concerning thing that Beth (Kelly Reilly) and Rip (Cole Hauser) face in the explosive clip.

- The series follows the couple as they settle down in Texas and find themselves at odds with rival ranch owner Beulah Jackson (Annette Bening).

- And it's clear things that quickly take a turn from the deadly as the trailer reveals explosions, lots of dead bodies, and gunfights.

Cat’s outta the bag! There’s a leopard in the new *Dutton Ranch *trailer and, honestly, it brings forth so many new questions about the *Yellowstone* spinoff.

Like, where did this leopard come from? Why is it in Texas? Does someone own it? Are you even legally allowed to own a leopard? (It *is* a leopard, by the way — we checked.)

And yet, somehow, it seems like the legality of owning a big cat in the Lone Star State will be the *least* of Beth (Kelly Reilly) and Rip’s (Cole Hauser) concerns in the upcoming series. Following the events of the *Yellowstone* finale, the show follows the couple and their son Carter (Finn Little) as they settle down on some prime Texas acreage with the goal to finally get some peace and quiet.

“This life here is gonna work, isn’t it?” Beth asks Rip at one point in the clip. To which he replies, “We’ll make it work… Welcome to Texas, honey.”

Any dreams of rest and relaxation are quickly shuttered when the couple find themselves at odds with an established rival ranch spearheaded by Beulah Jackson (Annette Bening).

“My ranch is 190 years old and I work very hard to protect it,” Beulah says, as footage shows her glaring at Rip and Beth and, later, sharing knowing looks with Everett McKinney (Ed Harris).

“We need to be careful with this family,” Rip warns as he can be seen riding on a horse through a field engulfed in flames.

Thankfully, Beth and Rip have some allies on their side too, who swear their allegiance and begin loading their guns. And it’s clear that they’ll need them as Rip can be seen engaged in a firefight with two heavily armed individuals.

From then on, it’s the Wild West as clips of dead bodies being dragged and thrown down mineshafts, people screaming, fistfights, explosions, police chases, and the aforementioned leopard are showcased.

“I wanted peace,” Beth confesses. When Rip tells her that you can’t chase peace, she simply replies, “Then peace will have to wait.”

In addition to Reilly, Bening, Harris, and Hauser,* Dutton Ranch* stars Juan Pablo Raba, Jai Courtney, J.R. Villarreal, Marc Menchaca, and Natalie Alyn Lind.

*Dutton Ranch* premieres its first two episodes on May 15 on Paramount+ and on the Paramount Network. The series will then switch to weekly installments for the rest of its nine-episode season.
