WASHINGTON, Jan 13 (Reuters) - President Donald Trump welcomed inflation ‌figures released on Tuesday, ‌using the U.S. consumer price data to reiterate his push ‌for Federal Reserve chair Jerome ‍Powell to cut interest rates "meaningfully."

U.S. data showed consumer prices increased ‌in December as the distortions related to the government shutdown that had artificially lowered inflation in November unwound, cementing expectations that the ‍Fed would leave interest rates unchanged this month.
