Schmigadoon! is heading to Broadway and PEOPLE has the reveal of its supporting cast
Among the stars joining are Ana Gasteyer, Brad Oscar and Ann Harada
New cast members also include Isabelle McCalla, Ivan Hernandez, Max Clayton, McKenzie Kurtz and Broadway newcomer Ayaan Diop
The town of Schmigadoon! is getting a few new residents on Broadway.
PEOPLE can exclusively reveal additional members of the upcoming musical's company, including one of comedy's biggest stars, a handful of stage superstars and one actress reprising her role from the award-winning Apple Original series.
All will join two-time Tony Award nominee Alex Brightman (Beetlejuice, School of Rock) and theater vet Sara Chase (The Great Gatsby, First Date), who were previously announced to lead the show.
They're playing New York doctors Josh and Melissa, the parts originated by Keegan-Michael Key and Cecily Strong in the TV series. The show follows the couple as they set off on a backpacking retreat to rekindle their relationship, but instead find themselves trapped in a magical town where life operates like a Golden Age musical and the only way out is through true love (which may or may not be with each other).
Broadway heavyweights like Kristin Chenoweth, Alan Cumming, Ariana DeBose, Jane Krakowski and Aaron Tveit had filled out of the town of Schmigadoon! on-screen. And onstage, their roles will be played by a equally impressive group of stars.

Among the additions is Saturday Night Live alum Ana Gasteyer, who will play Mildred Layton, the morally superior wife of Reverend Layton who keeps a close eye on everyone in town. The sketch comedy superstar is no stranger to the boards, with Broadway credits that include Once Upon a Mattress and Wicked.
Two-time Tony Award nominee Brad Oscar will star as Mayor Menlove, the welcoming leader of the town who harbors a secret — and a song — in his heart. Oscar earned his nominations for his scene-steaming turns in The Producers and Something Rotten.
Reprising her role from the TV series, Ann Harada returns as Florence Menlove, the dutiful and oblivious wife of Schmigadoon’s mayor. Harada previously appeared in Broadway productions including Avenue Q and Into the Woods, and was a fan-favorite for her role in the NBC series Smash.

The newly announced cast also includes Isabelle McCalla (The Prom, Water for Elephants) as Emma Tate, a more modern woman who struggles to fit into Schmigadoon’s rigid traditions, and viral star Ayaan Diop, who will make his Broadway debut as Carson, a lovable young resident of the town.
Ivan Hernandez (Dear Evan Hansen) joins the company as Doc, the handsome town doctor with an icy exterior, while Max Clayton (The Music Man, Moulin Rouge! The Musical) will star as Danny Bailey, the town bad boy who becomes a particular problem once he sets his sights on Melissa. The Heart of Rock and Roll standout McKenzie Kurtz rounds out the principal casting as Betsy, the farmer’s daughter who immediately falls for Josh.
Also joining the company are Afra Hines, Becca Petersen, Brandon Block, Clyde Alves, Jess LeProtto, Joshua Burrage, Kaleigh Cronin, Keven Quillon, Kimberly Immanuel, Lauralyn McClelland, Lyrica Woodruff, Maria Briggs, Miles McNicoll, Nathan Lucrezio, Richard Riaz Yoder, Shina Ann Morris and Zachary Downer as additional Schmigadoon townspeople.
Continued casting will be announced at a later date.

Schmigadoon! will begin previews at the Nederlander Theatre on Saturday, April 4, ahead of an opening night on Monday, April 20. The musical's run is currently scheduled through Sunday, Sept. 6.
Cinco Paul, who co-created the series with Ken Daurio, has penned the musical's book. His Emmy-winning score from the show will be expanded for the stage, with new songs providing more loving nods to Brigadoon, Oklahoma!, The Music Man and other mid-century classics.
The Broadway production is being produced by Saturday Night Live’s Lorne Michaels, among others.
“Schmigadoon! is a love letter to the Golden Age of movie musicals,” Michaels previously said in a release. “It’s a little bit nostalgic and a lot of fun. We’re very excited to bring it to Broadway.”
Tickets for Schmigadoon! are now on sale.
