The actress recently spoke with PEOPLE in 10 about her latest film,Carolina Caroline, and opened up about the early stages of motherhood. The Ready or Not star, 34, welcomed her first baby with husband Jimmy Warden, PEOPLE confirmed on May 27.
Weaving tells PEOPLE that after she gave birth, her mother and sister took the baby's swaddle home to introduce the scent to the animals. "I don't know if that did anything, but I read that that's a thing."
According to the Over Your Dead Body actress, her dog, Muriel, and cat, Virginia, are both handling the baby's arrival well, but differently."So my dog is very respectful of the baby, she's like run up to me, and then realizes I'm with the babe, and be like, 'Oh, I'm so sorry for interrupting, I will see you guys later,' " Weaving jokingly says.

Before the birth of her first baby, Weaving told PEOPLE how supportive her friends were, including her Babylon costar Margot Robbie."Oh my gosh, all my girls here who are moms have just been so lovely, and I think what they all tell me is just, 'You do it your way. Whatever makes you feel comfortable,'" she told PEOPLE on March 20 at the Clarins Night of Extra red carpet event."I think our society, there's so many voices and opinions, and that it's tough for women, especially when they're pregnant and being a mom," she added. "So they're all just so supportive."
