*Big Brother* alum Mickey Lee, who competed on season 27 of the CBS competitive reality series this past summer, has died, days after her family revealed she had been hospitalized and was in "critical condition" after suffering a "series of cardiac arrests." She was 35.

Lee's family announced her death in an Instagram post shared on Friday, revealing that the reality TV star died on Christmas Day. "Mickey captured the hearts of audiences nationwide through her appearance on *Big Brother*, where her authenticity, strength, and spirit left a lasting impression on fans and fellow cast members alike," the post read. "She will be remembered for the joy she brought into the lives of so many and for the genuine connections she formed both on and off screen."

"The family extends their deepest gratitude to everyone who has offered prayers, love, and support during this incredibly difficult time. Your kindness has been felt and is sincerely appreciated," the note continued.**

Lee's family concluded the post with the message, "As the family mourns this tremendous loss, they respectfully request privacy during this critical time of bereavement. Details regarding memorial services and arrangements will be shared at a later date. Mickey's light, legacy, and impact will never be forgotten."

The day before, a note from Lee's family shared on Instagram told her followers that they were walking through a "critical moment regarding Mickey."

"We feel the love surrounding us and we are incredibly thankful. Right now, our family needs quiet, space, and uninterrupted time to focus on her care and on one another," the note continued. "We respectfully ask that calls, texts, and messages pause for now. Your prayers mean more than words, and we will share updates when we are able. Thank you for honoring our need for privacy during this very difficult time."

A GoFundMe page set up on Lee's behalf days before her death detailed her condition and called for support to help cover the expenses incurred by this "sudden health crisis."

"Mickey recently suffered a series of cardiac arrests and is now in the ICU in critical but stable condition. She has been surrounded by medical professionals and loved ones, but the road ahead will be long and challenging," fundraiser organizer Kori Smith noted.

Lee's family is asking for donations as her health emergency has left them "facing enormous emotional and financial strain from mounting hospital bills to ongoing care and recovery costs."

"Mickey has touched so many lives through her courage, bold personality, and unforgettable presence on *Big Brother.* Let's show her the same love and support now when she needs it most. Thank you for your generosity, prayers, and support," the page reads.

The GoFundMe has raised over $31,000 of its $40,000 goal as of publication.

Originally hailing from Jacksonville, Fla., Lee resided in Atlanta and described herself as an event curator during her run on *Big Brother *earlier this year. She made it to day 59 before being evicted, finishing in 10th place, one day before franchise fan favorite Rachel Reilly was sent home.**** "We are beyond saddened by the news," Reilly wrote in an Instagram Story Friday of Lee's death. "Thank you for bringing your light to the world. You will be missed. This doesn't feel real. heartbroken that you're gone. You'll always have a place in my heart."**** Jimmy Heagerty, who was the fourth houseguest evicted in season 27, wrote in an Instagram Story, "Forever my girl. Rest in Power Micks."*****Big Brother* legend Danielle Reyes paid tribute to Lee on X. "My heart goes out to the BB family on the loss of Mickey, especially during Christmas," she wrote. "While I didn’t know her personally, it’s clear she was deeply loved. Sending condolences, strength, and love to her family and all who are grieving."**

Though Lee didn't advance to the climactic finale, she was well-liked by her fellow houseguests. During an interview with * *just days before Ashley Hollis' win, Cliffton "Will" Williams, a 50-year-old college sports podcaster who was evicted on day 66 and returned as a member of the jury that eventually chose the winner, named Lee as the one contestant voted out pre-jury that he wished he could have saved.

"Mickey for sure. Mickey and I were close in the house, and she's a good friend. We vibed a lot in the house. She was an amazing cook, and I miss that," he said.**
