Love Is Blind started with a major setback for one contestant.
Season 10 of the hit Netflix reality series, which premiered on Wednesday, Feb. 11, sees 32 new singles hailing from all over Ohio look for love in the pods, but episode 1 ended with one of those singles being rushed to the hospital.
Elissa Finley, a 39-year-old nurse, was crying in the women's lounge area, much to the distress of her costars, at the end of episode 1. "What do I do? F---," she could be heard saying.
A medic then stepped in, and told her, "Okay, I know you're scared right now. We're gonna have to send you out."
She returned at the start of episode 2, and gave a few of her costars a rundown on what led to her going to the hospital. "So, it still hurts a little bit, but I go in [to the bathroom], and there was a little bottle there, and I wanted to put eye drops in my eye," Elissa explained.
The bottle she grabbed, though, wasn't eye drops at all. "It was nail glue."

The other women were shocked by that revelation — and concerned for Elissa, who said she was "scared" and "thought I was gonna lose sight" because her vision was "blurry."
"When we got to the hospital, they just hooked up an IV bag with tubing and just sat here and just flushed my eye, and the guy was getting the glue out," she explained. "It was so awful. I can't believe I did that."
Elissa's bond with the women she starred alongside was evidently strengthened after such a scary experience. In a Feb. 2 Instagram post, she said she's "so grateful for these women I get to do this life chapter with" ahead of the show's premiere.
"From then to now, through all the high [sic] and lows — I wouldn’t have it any other way," she wrote. "Y’all don’t even realize the bond we formed walking into the reality TV world together and coming out so close. I can’t wait to see it all unfold with all of YOU. 💜#podsquad10."

The season 10 cast ranges in age from 28 to 38 (at the time of filming) and features a "high number of Pisces men," per Netflix's Tudum.
"These daters also have a collectively impressive résumé, including a PhD-holding professor, a retired professional soccer player, multiple medical doctors, and a former Cleveland Cavaliers dancer," per Tudum. "Many are looking for someone to grow old with, while one simply dreams of taking his wife to a place called Grandpa’s Cheesebarn."
