Mark Consuelos is making his Broadway debut in the Roundabout Theatre Company's revival of Noël Coward's Fallen Angels
Kelly Ripa praised her husband's performance, calling him "unbelievably funny" and the production "laughter from the moment" it starts
The play, directed by Scott Ellis, features a star-studded cast including Rose Byrne and Kelli O'Hara
Mark Consuelos had a very special guest at his Broadway performance on Tuesday, April 7.
The actor — who is currently starring opposite Oscar nominee Rose Byrne and Tony Award winner Kelli O'Hara in the Roundabout Theatre Company's revival of Noël Coward's Fallen Angels — was supported at the comedy by his wife of nearly 30 years, Kelly Ripa.
Ripa discussed the experience of seeing her husband on stage for the first time, praising his work on Wednesday's episode of Live with Kelly and Mark (the syndicated talk show the two co-host together).
"I forget how unbelievably funny you are," Ripa, 55, told Consuelos, 55. "You are amazing. You knocked my socks off."

In fact, she liked Consuelos' work so much, it got her thinking about rewarding him in a special way. "If you didn't have two shows today, you may have gotten lucky," Ripa shared.
That's too bad for Consuelos, who has previously complained about the fact that his preference for morning sex has been hindered by his and Ripa's unconventional work schedules.
Kelly Ripa holds a 'Playbill' for 'Fallen Angels,' the Roundabout Theatre Company production that stars her husband, Mark Consuelos
Consuelos is making his Broadway debut in Fallen Angels.
The play follows two upper-class wives who, left alone while their husbands are away, rekindle memories of past romances over drinks. When they realize they once shared the same lover — who happens to be on his way to visit — old rivalries and buried tensions begin to bubble to the surface.
"You did not lie to me when you said, 'You to love it.' It's my cup of tea," Ripa said. "It's just laughter from the moment you are taken back in time. The set is so glamorous, the costuming is perfect. Kelli O'Hara and Rose Byrne are so unbearably funny. They are geniuses. Their talent is so extraordinary."
She went on to praise Tracee Chimo, who rounds out the cast with three-time Tony nominee Christopher Fitzgerald and Aasif Mandvi. "She is a revelation," Ripa said.

"I laughed for 90 minute," the Emmy winner continued.
The revival is directed by 12-time Tony nominee Scott Ellis, who worked with Ripa over 20 years ago on her ABC sitcom Hope and Faith. In fact, Ellis reached out to Ripa to see if Consuelos would be interested in the part.
Hilariously, Ripa didn't know that when Ellis called. As she explained to the Live audience, she thought Ellis was proposing she do the show.
"He calls me out of the blue a few months ago and says, ‘Kelly, listen. I'm doing a play. It's a Noël Coward play, it's a little known play from the 1920s. It's a comedy,' "Ripa recalled. "And I'm like, 'Yes… Yes…' And he goes, 'Do you have Mark's cell phone because I think he would be perfect for this play.' And I said, 'Oh, yes… I have it somewhere…' "
Fallen Angels officially opens at Broadway's Todd Haimes Theatre on April 19. The limited production is scheduled to run through June 7.
Before it opens, Ripa will be at another Broadway kickoff — director Joe Mantello's revival of Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman, which opens at the Winter Garden Theatre on Thursday, April 9.
That production stars another member of Ripa's family: son Joaquin Consuelos, who is also making his Broadway debut.
Ripa's already seen Joaquin in Death of a Salesman, sitting for a preview performance on March 10.
"It was unbelievable," Ripa gushed on the March 11 episode of Live with Kelly and Mark. "The entire production is incredible and just to see Joaquin up there took my breath away. Took my breath away. Incredible, incredible cast, production, staging — the whole thing."
"Just to see our kid on stage thrilled me," Ripa said. "It's crazy. Doesn't make any sense. ... If you would have told me when he was a newborn, 'Oh 22 years from now he'll be starring on Broadway in Death of a Salesman, I would have thought you were on drugs."
Tickets for Fallen Angels and Death of a Salesman are now on sale.
