Jesse Eisenberg*** ***thinks his *Now You See Me: Now You Don't *costar Woody Harrelson may have been involved in the recent burglary at the Louvre.

Eisenberg says the upcoming heist flick's entire cast has been fielding questions about the crime, in which multiple royal jewels were stolen from the renowned Parisian museum in broad daylight. However, it's Harrelson’s detailed responses to the questions that are starting to make Eisenberg a bit suspicious.

"It was really funny. We were doing press yesterday... we were all joking around, 'Oh, yeah, it was us!' And then Woody Harrelson came out with a very specific set of tools that he would use to do that,ā€ Eisenberg said while visiting *The Tonight Show* on Wednesday to promote the movie. "And we were all sitting there — 'What is an acute grating saw? What are you talking about? How do you know this stuff?'"

Host Jimmy Fallon attempted to find a legitimate reason for Harrelson's in-depth heist knowledge outside of personal experience. "He knows it from the movie?" he asked. To which Eisenberg deadpanned, "No, he knows it from maybe doing that."**

Seven people have been arrested in connection to the Louvre burglary as of Thursday — but Harrelson is not one of them. The stolen jewels have yet to be recovered.

Earlier in the interview, Eisenberg also joked that the theft was actually a very elaborate ploy to drum up excitement forĀ *Now You See Me: Now You Don't*. After all, the film series follows a group of street magicians — played by Eisenberg, Harrelson, Isla Fisher, and Dave Franco — who famously use tricks to steal from the wealthy.Ā **

Mark Ruffalo saved 'Now You See Me' costar Woody Harrelson from a bar fight

"Listen, we're trying to get people back to theaters, and there's only so many kind of cute TikTok videos I can make," Eisenberg said. "And so we have to do something a little outside the box."

As a result of starring in the *Now You See Me *movies, Eisenberg was weirdly dazzled by the real-life heist.Ā "When I read about it, I remember feeling like not just a person reading the news. I remember thinking like, 'Oh, they did a good job,'" he said. "Almost with the authority to evaluate how quick they were, which was very impressive."

He also admitted that his experience shooting the films over the past decade has totally skewed his perspective on why people commit crime in the first place.Ā **

"My second thought was even stupider, which was that, in the movies, we steal from the elite villains of the world to give back to the needy," Eisenberg said. "And so when I saw that they stole those diamonds, my first thought was, 'Oh, man, they're gonna give it to somebody really worthy of it.' They probably are not doing that, but that's just the way my mind works from doing these movies for 15 years."**

He continued, "I have been kind of brainwashed by these wonderful movies to think that anybody doing anything bad or stealing anything is ultimately doing it for a good reason, you know?"**

*Now You See Me: Now You Don’t*, the third chapter in the franchise, abracadabras into theaters on Nov. 14. Watch Eisenberg discuss the Louvre heist in the clip above.
