Jeff Goldblum says heâs gone vegetarian after playing the Wizard of Oz in Jon M. Chuâs blockbuster sequel âWicked: For Good.â
During a recent interview on âThis Morning,â Goldblum discussed how lucky he feels to play such an impactful role as the Wizard at age 73. He also added that, because of the filmâs themes surrounding animal cruelty, he has stopped eating meat.

âItâs uncommon that you get to be doing this over a period of time and get more fertile and juicy and interesting and relevant roles for yourself at this period of time,â Goldblum said. âWorking with Jon Chu [is] amazing. Itâs changed me. You know, after doing this movie, we talked about the animal cruelty, I stopped eating meat and poultry.â
He added, âWe need the world to work for everybody on Earth and every creature, too.â
After putting his spin on the villainous ruler of Oz in 2024âs âWicked,â Goldblum will reprise the role in âWicked: For Goodâ on Nov. 21. His co-stars include Ariana Grande as Glinda, Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba and Michelle Yeoh as Madame Morrible.
The first âWickedâ earned 10 nominations at last yearâs Academy Awards and took home two statues for best achievement in costume design and best achievement in production design.
âWicked: For Goodâ is expected to repeat the 10 nominations led by best actress and best supporting actress picks for Erivo and Grande, respectively. If they both repeat, they would become the seventh and eighth performers in Oscar history to be nominated twice for the same role.
