Daniel Goddard, best known for his role as Cane Ashby on The Young and the Restless, has enjoyed a few daytime reunions since joining ABC’s General Hospital earlier this year as Henry Dalton, but his latest one might be the most nostalgic one yet.
The actor shared a behind-the-scenes photo on the set of General Hospital with daytime legend Genie Francis (Laura Collins) on Instagram, writing. “Reunited and it feels so good. 💫” The actor wrote.
Goddard reminded fans of their on-screen history, saying, “Genie Francis — a true TV legend — was my TV mom on The Young and the Restless, and now I have the honor and fortune of working with her again on General Hospital. Only this time… maybe she’s my nemesis? 👀”
He also invited fans to speculate about what’s next, writing, “What do you think — where’s this storyline headed?” before jokingly adding, “And a huge shoutout to the best photo bomb I’ve seen in ages. Thanks, mate — great working with you too! 😂”

Fans took to the comment sections to share their excitement for the reunion, one user wrote, “Ohhh my god 😮 I totally remember that now!!! Wasn’t she Genevieve Atkinson I think was her name???? That is soooo cool, I love her!! ❤️❤️❤️”
A second fan said, “What a fantastic photo! I have had a crush on Genie since I was 9 years old going back to 1980. Francis joined The Young and the Restless in 2011, playing Genevieve Atkinson opposite Colin Atkinson (Played by the late Tristan Rogers), and was revealed to be Cane Ashby (Goddard) biological mother. She exited the role in 2012, after about 18 months on the show.
Fans can watch Goddard’s story unfold as General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC and weeknights on Hulu.
