Candace Cameron Bure opened up about her decision to stop posting bathing suit photos, explaining she no longer wants to welcome any judgmental comments about her body.
“I do feel confident and secure in who I am, however, I feel like there’s still always a pressure [to look a certain way],” Cameron Bure, 49, told Us Weekly in an interview published on Wednesday, November 5.
The Full House alum admitted it's not always easy to rise above the pressures of Hollywood. However, she did say that she feels "great.”
Cameron Bure also revealed that only one person's opinion about her body matters. “If my husband loves me and tells me I look great, then that’s all that matters," she said.
In September, Cameron Bure found herself at the center of backlash after she posted a photo of herself in a one-piece bathing suit on social media in which she told her followers she was “soaking up the end of summer” and “having fun.” She eventually took down the picture, explaining that fans were making unkind remarks about her body.
Now that time has passed, Cameron Bure acknowledged it was easier to delete the photo than to deal with nasty comments.
“People are always going to have an opinion, and sometimes you forget that for a moment because you’re like, ‘Hey, happy moment. Gonna share something,’” she said. “And then you’re like, ‘Oh, why did I share it?’”
Cameron Bure continued, “I don’t need for people to pick apart my body. I’m like, ‘That’s fine, you couldn’t have an opinion. I’m just going to take it away so you don’t get to say what you want about that part of my life.’ And that’s fine.”
Another topic she touched on during the interview was her thoughts on aging, and she revealed that she still feels young ahead of her 50th birthday in April 2026
“I think I’m always gonna feel like I’m 30. I think of [my real] number, and I’m like, ‘I’m that old?’” she said. “I guess I’m making myself excited about turning 50. I don’t know if I’m really excited about it, but I’m kind of, like, willing myself to be excited.”
As she prepares to enter a new decade, Cameron Bure revealed there's one thing she hopes to leave in her past. “I’d like to leave the cystic acne that I still get. I don’t want to take that into my 50s,” she said with the laugh. “I’m like, ‘Why am I still getting this in my 40s?’ I have a feeling it’s only going to get worse.”

Meanwhile, she shared that she's embracing her health before her 50th birthday.
“I am getting in the best shape of my life,” she said. “Because I want to enter this next decade of my life being strong and healthy, because I know I got a lot of stuff coming my way, and I want to be able to handle it as best as I can.”
