JQ Editions will publish limited edition hardcovers of historical romances personally curated by Quinn

Julia Quinn has a new bookish endeavor up her sleeve.PEOPLE has an exclusive first look at the Bridgerton author’s new special edition book subscription service, JQ Editions.Per a statement shared with PEOPLE, JQ Editions will publish limited edition hardcovers of historical romance novels curated by Quinn. Spanning “modern classics and standout contemporary titles,” the books will be released on a subscription basis beginning in July via Kickstarter, according to a statement shared with PEOPLE.

JQ Editions’ inaugural titles include The Last Lady B by Eloisa James, An Extraordinary Union by Alyssa Cole and Lord of Scoundrels by Loretta Chase. The books are designed in collaboration with authors and illustrators, and will include illustrated endpapers, sprayed edges and soft touch covers.
“I've been writing historical romance for over 30 years, and JQ Editions is my love letter to the genre,” Quinn explains to PEOPLE in an exclusive statement. "Bridgerton fans are always asking me what to read next. With JQ Editions, I have the opportunity to hand-select the very best in historical romance.”

Quinn also notes the care that went into designing the cover and page artwork, created by Shea O’Connor, Lisbeth Checho, Emily Cotler and Ann Shen.
“I've especially loved working with the artists to create covers and endpaper art that truly represents the book and honors the authors,” Quinn says.

“We've worked hard to include book-specific details like forget-me-nots on the cover of An Extraordinary Union (the heroine, Elle, has an eidetic memory). The cover of Lord of Scoundrels has five Easter eggs! And as for The Last Lady B — the endpapers are simply divine, with the entire wonderful, quirky cast.”
