When Bad Bunny took over the Super Bowl LX halftime stage at Levi’s Stadium, almost nothing about the performance leaked ahead of time, not even to the celebrities dancing a few feet from him. Hospitality heavyweight David Grutman was one of the few invited into the now-iconic “casita” set piece, and he shared why Alix Earle was included.

“The vibes were amazing,” Grutman told Page Six in an interview the day after the game. “I did a lot of cool things in my life. Obviously, this was top. This was insane — just the energy and the whole thing.”
Grutman, who co-owns Miami hotspot Gekko with Bad Bunny, has known the artist long before stadiums and has been through so many “life-changing moments,” Grutman said. “So he thought it was important that I be in the casita. That was really sweet of him.”
During “Yo Perreo Sola,” Grutman could be seen dancing alongside a stacked lineup that included Jessica Alba, Karol G, Pedro Pascal, Cardi B, and Alix Earle. Earle’s appearance quickly sparked conversation online, and Grutman said that was exactly the point. “She’s the face of Gen Z,” he explained.
“Bad Bunny wanted to be inclusive of all, especially for the casita. He wanted to show a little bit of everything. And I think having her be the face of Gen Z and so much of America, I think it’s a great thing.” Grutman’s connection to Earle goes beyond that night. He is producing her upcoming Netflix reality series.
Despite being part of the performance, Grutman said he and the other celebrities were kept completely in the dark about the show’s biggest moments. “I didn’t know about any of that stuff. He kept all of it, every element, a secret,” he said. There were surprise appearances from Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin, along with a live wedding ceremony. “The only thing I knew,” Grutman added, “was going to show that he loved America.”
